FASHION FILM FESTIVAL

8 editions ago, when national fashion films were still rare, Porto Fashion Week brought to Portugal the concept that was beginning to be explored in the biggest fashion weeks in the world: the Fashion Film Festival. The only one of its kind in Portugal, it aims to highlight the Fashion Film as a privileged audiovisual language to promote and disseminate the work of creators in the Fashion and Audiovisual industry, highlighting and rewarding the best works.

The categories of this edition are: National Fashion Films by Independent Authors, Brands, Technical Textiles, Alive Mobile, International Fashion Films and the category of Home Textiles, in honor of the Capital of this segment - Guimarães, which hosts the Festival through third consecutive year.

Technological advances provide a new way of making fashion and, as a result, fashion films are created. Technology and fashion are complementary and in the 8th edition we celebrate this union, which enables us to create countless creations. The contrast of the cinematographic wave with new technologies brings us to the concept of this edition.

Until October 11, 2021 send us your Fashion film.

Fátima Lopes

Fashion Designer

Fátima Lopes is a renowned portuguese stylist. She was born on Madeira Island on March 8, 1965 and in 1990 she decided to embrace her fashion dream and move to Lisbon.

In September 1992 the 1st Fátima Lopes collection was presented in a fashion show in Lisbon and the first Fátima Lopes boutique was born.

In 1995, Fátima Lopes brand began to be commercially presented in several fashion fairs in Paris and the following year it opened its boutique in the city of Lights. In March 1999 Fátima Lopes became the 1st portuguese fashion designer to be part of Prêt-a-Porter Féminin Fashion Week in Paris. Since then, Fátima Lopes presents her collections twice a year in the French city.

Bold and irreverent, the designer surprised the world and entered the Guinness Book in March 2000, by showing herself the 1st bikini in gold and diamonds in the history of Fashion and the most expensive in the world, valued at one million dollars.

In 2001 the first fine jewelery collections were born, followed by porcelain, cutlery, crystal, home textiles, eyeglasses, pens, flooring and coverings.

There are countless career awards received, having even been decorated as Commander of the Order of Infante D. Henrique, by the then President of the Republic, Mr. Jorge Sampaio.

In September 2011, Fátima Lopes once again surprised the fashion world, presenting for the 1st time, a parade on top of the most representative French monument, the Tour Eiffel. The collection for summer 2012 with the theme “Lévitation” had the official opening honors of the “Paris Fashion Week”.

In March 2013 Fátima Lopes launched in Paris her first fragrance “Fátima Lopes be mine”. Fátima Lopes idealized the concept and image, while the essence was in charge of the renowned Givaudan perfumer Aurélien Guichard, the result is a unique and sensual perfume.

The year 2017 marked the 25th anniversary of the brand with an exhibition of 25 pieces representing 25 years of collections and a large fashion show in the space where it was born – Convento do Beato.

On February 26, 2019, Fátima Lopes made history by showing her 41st collection and thus commemorating her 20th anniversary at Paris Fashion Week, becoming the first portuguese-speaking designer to achieve such a feat. The fashion show, presented at the Portuguese Embassy in Paris, had as theme “Portugal” and so, for the first time, it decided to honor the Portuguese soul and culture in a clear appeal to national pride.

On February 29, 2020 Fátima Lopes presented her 43rd fashion collection in Paris at Paris Fashion Week. This was followed by the opening of the Fátima Lopes online store www.fatimalopes.com and the physical store at Travessa do Enviado de Inglaterra 7, in Lisbon.

In 2021, the Fátima Lopes brand is getting ready to start its Franchising project.
